A group of entitled music executives from London, including Dan (Danny Mays), head to Cornwall for a weekend away. There they run into a group of singing fishermen called the Fisherman's Friends and Dan’s boss (Noel Clarke) says he wants to sign them. Dan tries to earn their respect to get them to sign, but they don't want fame and fortune. As Dan slowly learns the power of friendship and community, he discovers the entire deal was a prank. Now he must rebuild the band's broken trust and convince his boss the Fisherman's Friends are worth signing.
