Can I buy tickets online?
You bet. We offer ticketing for theaters in the U.S. that have online ticketing enabled. You can purchase tickets on any page that displays tickets. The
showtimes will show up as links from the theater showtime pages if tickets are available for a particular showtime.
Keep in mind that not all theaters have online ticketing available. For example, the show could be sold out or not available for online purchase.
How/where do I buy tickets online?
You can buy tickets on almost any movie times page. Go to the movie times page of your favorite theater by typing your theater's name in the Search box, or by clicking on Search by Theater. If your theater offers online tickets (not all theaters do), you'll ticket icons on each showtime. Click on the showtimes button, and then follow the instructions to buy tickets.
My ticket didn't print. What do I do?
Easy there, don't panic! Did you get an email confirmation? Check to see if you received that and if you did, you can print it out and take it to the theater along with the credit card you used.
I didn't get an email confirmation/How do I know if my order was processed?
We hate when this happens, but it might have gone into your spam or junk mail folder. If you don't find it there, log into your account and go to Manage Your Account. On this page you will be able to see ticket transactions from the last 3 months.
If you have any questions regarding ticketing, fill out the Customer Service form or call the Customer Service line at 1-888-440-8457.
How do I find out the price of a movie ticket?
For theaters with online tickets available, you can click on the showtime to buy tickets and will be able to see the price of the tickets. For movies without online ticketing, please call the theater. Theater phone numbers are listed with their addresses on showtimes pages, or you can use the Showtimes.com search box to search for theaters by name.
When are movie times updated? Why can't I get certain future movie times (for example, for the upcoming weekend on Wednesday or before)?
We update movie times four times a day, so as soon as the theater owners decide on the times they will appear on the website. Please keep in mind that movies generally change weekly on Fridays, so early in the week theater owners may not have decided on the following week's schedule. New movie times for the upcoming week may not be posted until Wednesday or Thursday.
How long will a particular movie be playing in theaters?
There is no way to predict how long any movie will play at a particular theater. It depends on the theater and how popular the film is. Please keep checking our movie times.
I went to see a movie and you had it listed, but it wasn't playing yet.
Some theaters determine movie times more than a week in advance. Please check the drop down date option to check all future movie times. Please make sure that the listing says that it's playing on the day you're planning to go. For example, if you want to go on Thursday, but the movie times are listed as Friday to Wednesday, then the movie isn't playing until Friday.
I want to see a particular movie, can you tell me when it will be coming to my theater?
Each theater selects the movies that will be screened at their cinemas. As soon as we have confirmation of the film's dates and showtimes, we will update our site. So keep checking our site for updates.
I went to see a movie and the showtimes were wrong and/or I went to see a movie but it didn't have 3D screenings like it said on the website.
We post the movie times provided by the theaters. Please email us if this happens and we will notify the theater and investigate what happened. Our movie times cover all U.S. theaters/movies and we pride ourselves on the accuracy of our movie times data.
What does No Passes mean?
That means if you have a free pass to get into a movie, you can't use it for that movie. Gift certificates are still accepted for these movies.
I have a theater and I would like Showtimes.com to display my movie times, how do I submit them?
If you own a theater and want your theater and movie times displayed, please email: email@example.com
How do I find out who won a sweepstakes?
When you go to Showtimes.com's Sweepstakes page, there's a link that says "View Sweepstakes Winners" at the top of the page. Click there for a full list of winners.
How many times can I enter your sweepstakes?
For most sweepstakes, as often as you like. Occasionally we have a sweepstakes you can only enter once, so please check Section No. 6, General Terms and Conditions in the Rules and Regulations if you're not sure.
How do you contact your sweepstakes winners?
If it's a big prize, we call the winner by phone. If it's a small prize, such as a book or DVD, we'll send the prize in the mail without notification. For Facebook sweepstakes, we may private message you, or in some cases we will post the winner on the relevant sweepstakes post or on the Facebook page and expect the winner to message us to claim the prize. In the case of tickets, we'll either notify you by email to make sure you keep that evening free or attach a voucher to the email that you can present at the theater.
Why do I never win your sweepstakes?
The odds of winning a prize depends upon the total number of eligible entries received on or before the applicable sweepstakes closing date. We receive numerous entries for each sweepstakes. You can enter most sweepstakes multiple times to increase your odds of winning.
Why am I getting a message that says I already entered a sweepstakes when it allows unlimited entries?
After you enter a sweepstakes, you have to close the browser and open up a new one in order to enter the same sweepstakes again, or you'll get a message saying you've already entered. You can enter as many times as you want, but close and reopen the browser between entries.
Why can't I switch the country on your sweepstakes entry form? Am I eligible to enter your sweepstakes?
Some sweepstakes are only open to certain people, e.g. residents of the continental U.S., or people above the legal drinking age. If a sweepstakes is only open to certain people, those fields may be pre-filled in the entry form. Please read the rules and regulations to ensure you are eligible. You can find these by clicking on the Rules and Regulations link on any sweepstakes entry page.

It's best to go in person - bring a resume, or you can fill out an employment form when you get there. Or if you'd like to apply online, please visit the theater site that you are interested in applying for.
Why are there ads on your site? Can I get rid of them?
Ads provide us with revenue to maintain all the great content. So if you like the site, please watch the ads - we try to gear them to be of interest to our users.
I don't like an ad that you're showing, can you get rid of it?
We try to make sure ads are of interest and relevant to our users. However, we agree that sometimes ads are terrible! Let us know if we're displaying something you think shouldn't be there.
What do the ratings mean?
The film-rating system used by the Motion Picture Association of America (MPAA) rates a film's suitability for different audiences. The MPAA rating system is based on the films' content and is often used to help parents decide what films are appropriate for their children. Read more to learn about the meaning of each rating.
Why don't you list the movie ratings on each movie page?
When you look up a movie or a theater in showtimes, the rating of the movie will appear beside the title.
How can I find out which movies have closed captioning (CC), Descriptive Video Service for the hearing impaired (DVS) or other hearing or seeing assisted devices?
Movies are not closed captioned, however some theaters have devices to help seeing or hearing. Where theaters have provided this information, we show it on the showtimes pages. You can also contact the theater directly by finding the phone number for the theater on the showtimes pages, or by using the Showtimes.com search box to search the name of theater.
This is an underserviced part of the film industry, which the industry is working to correct.
