When their mother dies, two brothers and their sister learn that they won't get their inheritance unless they undertake a pilgrimage from Puy-en-Velay to Saint-Jacques-de-Compostelle. Unfortunately they hate each other as much as they hate walking. Nevertheless, they head out on the road, lured by the prospect of money.
They hitch up with their guide in Puy, and discover that they’ll be walking with a group of six other people. The road is long, the misunderstandings, conflicts, love affairs, dreams, and inner journeys of the nine characters unfold.
