I wanted to like this, I really did. But the Rory storyline and the last four words were awful. The girl is a Yale graduate and can't find a job, a place to live, having sex with an engaged man and is too stupid not to get pregnant? Give me a break. They did, however, go a pretty good job of getting everyone back into the show.

I loved it having waited so long to see it I was afraid it would not live up to my expectations (it did). I think it ended perfectly and I hope the somewhat ambiguous ending means there may be more to come. Watch all 7 seasons before you even look at this though or it will make little sense to you.

As a major GG fan, I was beyond excited for the "return" of the series. Not quite, but practically counting down the days until it aired. I say this to qualify my rating and my review. I will start with the fact that I was disappointed, genuinely let down by a series that has always been so clever, funny and charming. After watching all 4 season, it left me not charmed and entertained; rather a little sad. The acting was as always good, and I see the "moral" of the story, being that life is not always as we expect it to be, etc., However, this was a television show, one that has generations of fans (I watched it originally, and have watched the entire series more than once on Netflix), and so while not expecting a perfect, happy ending (without giving everything away), I did expect more. It fell flat for me, some of it felt forced while other moments flowed, the original series never experienced this, and it told a genuine story. A Year in the Life, actually lacked substance and the strength of character that has always been synonymous with the show. Glad I watched it, but probably don't feel the need to re-watch, which too is disappointing.
