The film is subliminally anti-Semitic. All of the Jews portrayed in the film were wealthy, lived in huge estates and hoarded invaluable art collections and gold. This film reinforces antisemitic beliefs that all Jews are rich, greedy and hoard our collective art treasures for themselves. The suffering brought on by the holocaust was simply background noise to the grandeur of the art stolen by the Nazis. Picasso was rarely to be seen.
