Best movie I`ve seen in years!

User review rating: 0 September 24, 2006

Enjoyed it very much! The funny bits were funny; the scary bits were scary; and the blow-`em-up-good bits were blow `em up good. We actually went twice to the theatre. We`ll buy a copy when it comes out on DVD.

I went to see this movie with my gf (who had already seen it once) and I loved it. Since I`m a french speaking english guy living in Quebec, I loved all the translation and cultural jokes. My fav. part was when they were translating "Tattoo"! Overall a great comedy and action flick!

Trop de mauvais langage et trop de violence - non necessaire a la production d`un bon film.

When will this movie be released in the USA? I saw it while on vacation in Nova Scotia & loved it!

A movie that most Canadians over the age of 25 will find so funny!

Entertaning, but not that much for all the fuss! There are many errors in that movie in regards to the storyline, and ... I don`t know... We could notice the play behind the machism, it was not "natural", as if this movie was TRYING to be a "postiche" of a hollywoodian movie.

EXCELLENT

As a "tete caree" married to a francophone wife, we thorougly enjoyed the film. If you`re into hockey, so much the better. One of the funniest parts was a lesson on how to conjugate "tabernac" as a noun, verb. adjective and pronoun. And Aunt Iris! Wooo! Vive le Quebec Libre (see the film, you`ll get it..)

I was in Ottawa on business and saw it at the World Exchange centre accross the street from the Sheraton Ottawa on Albert. This film is excellent from several vantage points...language was harsh but extremely funny...anglophones should get off their keester and go see it..it is funnier then any of the lethel weapon and buddy cop movies made in the states, and is a must have on DVD for parties..probably one of the best black comedies ...`film noire` made in canada..and it should have been rated at cannes... this movie makes the trailer park boys look wholesome by comparison. I hope there is a sequel....we have such good subject matter up

Bravo! What a great idea to mix the two provinces. I was born in Quebec, now living in Toronto but still very "quebecoise". It was so good to see the mix of the two official languages. The movie made me laugh and cry. Very Well Done! Great actors!!! Continue the good work. Danielle

Fabulous movie, hilarious playing with language, with stereotypes, with Canadian and Quebec culture. I could see this movie ten times.

i really andjoy that movie it was funny

User review rating: 0 September 10, 2006

an excellent comedy/mystery film, full of cultural and language contrasts, especially for the bilingual.

Intelligent, witty, comical..best movie of the summer..when the expected plot twists occur they change it up and make it an enjoyable movie. The acting is top notch and Colm Feore is superb as usual. A must see movie if it is still playing in you neighbourhood.

One of the greatest Canadian movies ever made. Hilarious, interesting way of bringing up the conflict between French and English Canadian and the defferences between police forces in Canada. It passes along a great message to everyone in the most comic way. I loved it.

I really enjoy this movie...If your from Quebec you`ll find it quite amusing..I wasn`t expecting it to be as funny as it was..well done..iI give it 4.5 stars!

Wonderful film! Laughing at ourselves as Canadians is just great!

User review rating: 0 September 08, 2006

Best Canadian movie I`ve ever seen. Understood both languages and the French swear lesson is best in French. I laughed til I couldn`t make a sound.

best movie ever

User review rating: 0 September 06, 2006

Funny and clever! People (both anglophone and francophone) need to lighten up, and this a great way to do it---laugh at yourself a bit. While some of the premises are a bit unbelievable, it just forces you to remember ITS A MOVIE, just laugh!

the best canadian movie ever

great movie wellworth the price

Too Funny - very well written - plot a bit transparent at times but the writing more than made up for it

User review rating: 0 September 04, 2006

Honestly the best movie I`ve seen ever. Mind you I am a bilingual French Canadian in Alberta, so I understood all jokes without reading subtitles, and no, the english subtitles did not do justice to all french swears (ha ha) but all in all a great movie. The theatre I saw it in was empty, except for two or three other people, which is sad, because everyone laughed their pants off, and I`m certain I was the only one who understood both languages. Why are some English Canadians so afraid of reading subtitles? None of my English friends want to see it, because it`s bilingual and Canadian? That`s a real shame, because in Québec they go to see all

Excellent!!!!! Great for our country. Being Canadien is all of what was in the movie. it dserves a medal for bringing the country together. Growing up in northern NB bilingualism is the majority. Sure hope there is a second and third of this genre of movie. This movie is halarious and even if you don`t speak or understand French the comedy rings true. Victoria BC

-fair movie - 3.5 - plot was very shallow - acting was good and kinda nice to see Toronto & Montreal

User review rating: 0 September 04, 2006

I never write reviews but I had to say that this is one of the best Canadian comedies of our time. French and English should both relate! I laughed out loud so many times it hurts! I have already sent 12 other friends to see the movie and will buy a DVD copy for sure

How embarrasing is this - I hope it never leaves Canada. That was a BAD BAD movie. Imagine Bob and Doug`s smarter richer cousins playing table hockey in their uncles basement over a holiday get-together, the kind of basement with fake wood panelling and an unfinished rug (with no underpad) on a cement floor. These two half-wits are drinking beer and playing hockey and think..."I`ve just thought of a great idea for a movie". Good set up of the premise at the beginning, downhill from there. Makes Alligator Shoes and Mon Oncle Antoinne look good.

Greatb movie. Saw it twice, with both the English and French subtitles, and it was as funny in both cases. One of the best comedies I`ve EVER seen!

pretty good movie

User review rating: 0 September 03, 2006

I live in Québec, and I think French-Canadian people will understand this movie better. Bon Cop Bad Cop was a GREAT movie, based on a GREAT idea, with GREAT actors(the best is Colm Feore). Good recipe, isn`t it? One of the funniest movies I`ve ever seen. For those who are not Totally bilingual, like me :P, the subtitles are a must, and you can miss a bit of the action reading it. 9/10!!!

Good funny movie. The sequel should be about biker gangs in Toronto and Montreal.

User review rating: 0 September 02, 2006

Very funny and hits home, language is very daily and as it is, loved it.

User review rating: 0 September 02, 2006

It was hilarious and really well done. I loved it.

User review rating: 0 September 01, 2006

I live in Montreal and I`ve seen the movie three times, with three different people, and the theatre was packed every time. As the movie is bilingual (both languages spoken throughout), the only difference between the English language version and the French language version is under which language the subtitles appear. I saw the English version, with the English subtitles under the French dialogue. Everyone was rolling in the aisles laughing, pretty much throughout and, even after the third time, the movie remains interesting. The only thing I found out of place was the mastermind behind the crimes. It would have been better if he had
