This HAD been our "go-to" theater

December 12, 2018

The Frank Theaters at Gettysburg Village used to be a real hidden gem. Our family enjoyed going there because it usually wasn't crowded, was clean & the ticket prices were reasonable. I don't know what's happened, but the owners/management have only a skeleton crew working, even during peak weekend hours. Sometimes it appears to be only one person for the whole theater. The excuse of the credit card machines being down has been going on for several months, so they only accept cash. We have had issues with movies not starting on time, lights being left on in the theater after the movie starts, being sent to the wrong theater for our showing, the theater not wanting to accept pre-purchased tickets from Fandango... & the list goes on. The whole place now has a musty smell & is dirty. This probably can be partially attributed to the lack of staff. The biggest frustration is that tickets must be purchased at the concession stand. When they only have one or two people working & a lengthy line, you're going to be waiting a good while. This really stinks when your movie is about to start & you only want.to purchase tickets. You have to wait for everyone that is placing orders for food & drinks. Even though this is the closest theater to our home, we won't be back. Sad, because we were loyal patrons for many years.

Something very fishy going on here

December 16, 2018

This is no longer a Frank’s Theater. I couldn’t find movie times online anywhere, had to call the theater to find out what was playing. They do not accept credit cards, which is really bizarre, as anyone can get a Square or Paypal account. So it’s cash only, and they didn’t give us ticket stubs. The theater was deserted, only a few cars in the parking lot despite the outlet mall being packed. And a dog running around the lobby. The displays for the individual theaters were all wrong. We sat in a theater for ten minutes with no movie, ads or previews playing before we went to the concession stand and found out that we were in the wrong theater. Ignore the signs, because they’re all wrong. When we went to the correct theater it was freezing; there was clearly no heat on. We asked at the concession stand if the heat was broken. The worker told us he would turn up the heat, but we suspect that he knew it was broken and was trying to stall, get us to stay longer in hopes that we wouldn’t ask for our money back. We did ask for our money back. The worker seemed angry and we thought there might be an argument about it, and what recourse would we have, with no ticket stubs, no credit card protection? He did refund our money. We’ll never go back. This theater has been going downhill for years. We’ve had issues in the past with a broken projection bulb or heat or AC, or the restrooms are out of order; something always seems to be broken. If you go here, you need to have a backup plan, and be prepared to walk out. We only went here because the much nicer theater on RT 30 wasn’t playing anything that we wanted to see. There’s something very fishy going on at this theater, it feels like a Russian money laundering scheme.

Never again- will travel greater distance to another theater

October 26, 2018

Based on my experience at franks Gettysburg theater I will not go back. If we want to see a movie I will travel. I am a local and proud of Gettysburg and the experience we show many tourists each year- franks was embarrassment Last night we arrived at Franks to find the lobby, snack area and ticketing area unattended. We waited about 10 minutes til showtime and went looking We found a young female employee outdoors emptying a trash can. She was obviously emotionally distraught and and was crying. She finished her cleanup and came on to sell us tickets. We wee then advised Cash only because the credit card equipment was not working we declined our usual popcorn and snacks- as she had not washed hands after trash cleanup- snacks cash only as well We proceeded to our theater but then learned that the restrooms on the theater were closed due to ongoing vandalism No staff to serve guests No credit cards No restroom No training employees in hygiene Wow - what is going on with this place- were is management?

They did have popcorn. This was about all they could offer. No tickets wrong movie names on theaters and the movie started late. May as well not even open. Obviously going out of business.

Terrible!

November 26, 2018

Have gone to this theater for a few years, today was a terrible experience. First they only excepted cash, no cards, then the popcorn was over $6.00 a bag, and it was half the size it used to be. ( about the size of a lunch bag) Upon walking into the theater, 20 minutes ahead of the movie starting, there were no lights on, so you couldn’t see anything . Then the men’s room was out of order... Don’t know what has happened, but I will not go back.
