Used to be much better

March 07, 2019

I've been going to this theater off and on for the past twenty years. When they first opened, I lived in Woodridge and went there often. I've always liked the layout of the theater. But in the last five years or so, It has not been maintained as well as it could. The bathrooms feel worn and have broken soap dispensers. The carpet looks aged and worn, which makes it feel less clean. I'm hoping they do some minor renovations and updating in the near future. This is a good theater that's just not being well cared for.

It's Not What It Used To Be

May 29, 2017

I hadn't been to this theater in about 8 or 9 years. Used to love the place and went regularly every weekend. The entire parking lot on both sides of the building would be jam packed, especially if it was a new blockbuster movie premiering. You had to search for a parking space. I decided to come see a movie today since I was in the area. Entering off Woodward the place looked closed. There wasn't a single car on the front side of the building (where most people parked the last time I came). Back then most people entered thru the front doors and passed the video games, etc to get to the ticket counters. Now, I'm told they closed off the front since the ticket counters are towards the back. I drove around to the back and saw a small group of cars. Nothing like what it used to be like with a packed parking lot, people everywhere inside the theater, kids playing video games, etc. There used to be workers standing on either side taking tickets, there were two separate lines for tickets near the back entrance with two people at each counter, there used to be 5 or 6 people working concessions, two or three people on bathroom duty to keep it clean. It just used to be a very popular place. Tonight, it looked like a ghost town. I couldn't believe it and asked the girl taking tickets where was everybody. There was 1 girl taking tickets and one guy running concessions, no one was taking tickets on either side (depending on your theater number). Everyone was nice enough, the bathroom was clean, didn't have to wait to purchase a ticket nor get snacks...I was the only person in line. The last time I was there....again 8 or 9 years ago....my car as well as most others had been egged and perhaps the teens that did it thought it was funny, but I didn't. I decided back then to find another movie theater to go to and based on what I saw tonight, I made the right choice. I won't be back.

THis place is an expensive dump

March 19, 2017

Show early if you want concessions. Be prepared to wait at least 15 minutes in line. The bathrooms are gross and half the items in there are broken or non-functioning. Place needs to be leveled.

Is this place STILL open?

February 05, 2018

When I used to go here I always thought the theater was average at best, nothing special. Since I'm equal distance between here and the Marcus in Orland and Marcus installed power recliner seats, Atmos and has so many ticket price deals, I just stopped going to Loews in Woodridge. Then today I drove past and all the signage saying 'Lowe's' had been removed and there were no cars in the lot. I know they stopped using the north parking lot a while ago and the south parking lot never seems that full, I was just wondering if the place closed.
