Steven Tyler, birth name Steven Victor Tallarico, is an American singer and songwriter, best known as the frontman of the rock band Aerosmith. Steven is a multi-instrumentalist; he plays the harmonica, piano and drums, to name a few. His music has been on the soundtrack of over 60 productions. His band’s biggest hit, “I Don’t Wanna Miss a Thing” still plays on the radio. Due to his high screams and wide vocal range he has been nicknamed the “Demon of Screamin’.” Steven is a true performer, known for his acrobatics on stage, his bright, colorful outfits, and unique personality.
Steven grew up with a strong musical influence. He started playing drums at a young age, but then shifted his focus to singing. After Aerosmith took off, he eventually began to get under the influence of drugs. This caused serious problems for the band, and by the end of the 1970s two members left. Steven kept the band alive by adding new members but his creative abilities were weakened by his personal problems. By the mid-1980s Steven went to rehab but still struggled with his addiction. His health problems began to pile up a decade later.
Steven embarked on several solo endeavors, which include guest appearances in music, film, games (voice acting) and television, as well as authoring a bestselling book and a 2011 hit single titled “Feels So Good.” One endeavor of significance was his role as a judge on American Idol. Steven earned much attention for his unusual and hilarious feedback to the performers.
Steven also provides the voice of Nim Galuu in the animated adventure film Epic in 2013.
