Born: March 23, 1974

Randall Park was born in Los Angeles, California to Korean parents. Randall attended Hamilton High School and after he graduated, attended UCLA in the fall of 1993. He graduated with a bachelor’s degree in English but remained at UCLA to keep acting and complete his master’s degree in Asian American studies. While there, he co-founded "Lapu, the Coyote that Cares," the longest running and largest on-campus Asian American theater company, now shortened to the LCC Theatre company.

His screen debut was in the short film Dragon of Love (2003), which won the Best Short Film award at the Hawaii International Film Festival in 2003. Since then, Randall has helped create and star in many films such as The Interview (2014) as Kim Jong-un, Everything Before Us (2015) as a D.E.I. agent, and Always Be My Maybe (2019) as Marcus, the leading man. He also starred as the patriarch of the family, Louis, on the sitcom Fresh Off the Boat (2015-2020).

One of his most unforgettable roles was as Asian Jim on a 2012 episode of the hit series The Office, in which he played an actor friend of Jim's (John Krasinski) in a prank on Dwight. He reprised the role for promos of Krasinski's 2024 film, IF.

Randall’s directorial debut was with the film Shortcomings (2023), which premiered at the 2023 Sundance Film Festival and then was released on August 4, 2023.

He was a front man for a hip-hop/jazz/rock fusion band called lll Again then partnered with one of the members to form a rap group called Novelists once lll Again broke up. The Novelists released the album Bookends in 2008.

Randall married Jae Suh Park in 2008 and worked with her on the television series The Mindy Project (2012-2017) and the short film Love, NY (2011). They have a daughter named Ruby who was born in 2012 and soon starred in the web series Baby Mentalist (2013), developed by Randall, as a crime fighting baby superhero, alongside her parents.
