The youngest of four boys, Max Charles was born in Nashville. His family moved to California in 2009, when he was six. Max began landing work almost immediately in Hollywood, making his onscreen debut with a guest role on the hit HBO TV series True Blood. Guest appearances on shows such as Hot in Cleveland, Community and Raising Hope followed. He also played in a number of TV movies before making his major motion picture debut in The Three Stooges (2012), followed immediately by a role in The Amazing Spider-Man (2012), playing four-year-old Peter Parker.

Also in 2012, Max landed a regular role on the ABC-TV sitcom The Neighbors. In addition, he's an in-demand voice actor, having provided voices for Disney's DVD Spooky Buddies (2011), the TV series Family Guy, Robot Chicken and American Dad, and the voice of Sherman in 20th Century Fox's animated big screen release, Mr. Peabody & Sherman (2014).

In his spare time, Max enjoys riding bikes and scooters and free running. He also loves to play music with his older brothers.
