GUY TORRY

This native of St. Louis, Missouri started his acting career as a stand up comic, like his brother Joe.

He took a leap from stage to television when he did his act on Def Comedy Jam. The move proved fruitful as he spent the next few years in the Kings of Comedy national tour.

In 1992 he started landing guest roles in television series like Martin, The X Files and NYPD Blue. In the late '90s, Torry found more permanent roles on shows like The Good News, The Strip and The 70s, playing Dexter Johnson.

He didn't make it onto the big screen until 1996, when he took a small role as Doo Rag's Father in Don't Be a Menace to South Central While Drinking Your Juice in the Hood. Since then he has made his way through a variety of films including Back in Business with brother Joe, American History X playing Lamont, Life with Eddie Murphy and Pearl Harbor.

Torry has also done his fair share of writing.

While touring with Kings of Comedy, he created and wrote Phat Comedy Tuesdays at the Comedy Store, a weekly showcase for upcoming comedians. Writing credits also include episodes of Martin, Minor Adjustments and Moesha, among others.
