Decended from a long line of filmmakers, this California native was destined for the big screen. The great-grandson of Harry Warner, Warner Bros. Studio founder, and grandson of writer Dwight Hauser, Cole is also the son of actor Gerald Dwight "Wings" Hauser, though he has never been close to his father, having first met him when he was 11 years old. His interest in acting came while in junior high school, and after graduation moved to L.A. to pursue his chosen career.
He landed his first gig in the early '90s with a small role in the anti-Semitism drama School Ties (1992). The film not only gave him his first feature film credit, it also introduced him to a number of up-and-coming stars like Brendan Fraser, Chris O'Donnell, Matt Damon and Ben Affleckwith the latter two becoming good friends.
The following year, Hauser worked on the film, Daze and Confused with Affleck, before going solo into teen films like Skins (1994) (directed by his father), Higher Learning (1995) and All Over Me (1997).
