The daughter of actors Christopher Plummer and Tammy Grimes, Plummer was born in New York and followed her parents on to the stage where she won a Tony Award and a Drama Desk Award for her 1968 Broadway role in Agnes of God. She made her feature film debut playing the starring role of Annie in Cattle Annie and Little Britches (1981), co-starring Diane Lane. Since then she has appeared in over 60 feature films and television movies, as well as appearing in guest roles on television series such as L.A. Law, Tales from the Crypt, Miami Vice, Moonlighting and Night Visions.

Plummer has won two Emmy awards -- one in 1996 for her guest appearance in The Outer Limits and one in 1992 as Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Miniseries or Special for Miss Rose White.
