POLLY WALKER

Date of Birth: May 19, 1966

Born and raised in Warrington, England, Polly Walker began her career as a dancer. Her early career came to an end tragically when she suffered a leg injury. Soon after the accident she decided to pursue acting; she moved to London and joined the Royal Shakespeare Company where she played small roles until she landed a few performances on television.

It wasn't until 1990 when Walker landed the title role in the TV miniseries Lorna Doone that her television and film career took off.

Walker made her film debut in Shogun Warrior in 1991. She first gained international attention in 1992 as a member of a terrorist group in Philip Noyce's Patriot Games alongside Harrison Ford, Sean Bean and Samuel L. Jackson.

After the birth of her second child, Delilah, in 2000, Walker took a break from acting. However, she made a strong return by playing Atia of the Julii in HBO's smash success Rome.

Following the end of the cable hit show, Walker had a role in the Battlestar Galactica spinoff, Caprica.

In 2012, Walker played Sarkoja in John Carter, the Disney sci-fi film largely based on Edgar Rice Burroughs' A Princess of Mars.

Polly married British actor Laurence Penry-Jones in 2008.
