Super Mario Bros. Movie on top again at weekend box office

The Super Mario Bros. Movie tops the weekend box officeDespite several new movies releasing in theaters this weekend, The Super Mario Bros. Movie held onto the top spot for the fourth weekend in a row.

The Super Mario Bros. Movie stayed in the No. 1 spot at the box office, raking in an additional $40 million for a total that brings it just shy of the half billion mark domestically -- $490 million.

The horror movie Evil Dead Rise held onto second place, taking in an extra $12.2 million for a two-week total of $44.4 million.

Are You There God? It’s Me, Margaret starring Rachel McAdams and Abby Ryder Fortson debuted in third place with a take of $6.8 million. Click here to read our review.

John Wick: Chapter 4 held steady in fourth place, earning another $5 million for a six-week total of $176.2 million.

Rounding out the top five was the action comedy Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves starring Chris Pine and Michelle Rodriguez. It earned an additional $4.1 million for a five-week total of $88.2 million. Click here to read our review. ~Alexandra Heilbron
