Harrison Ford makes dangerous mistake in plane
During the coronavirus pandemic in which most people are feeling cooped up at home, Harrison Ford, 77, isn't barricading himself in his house.
He was out just a few days ago on April 24, piloting his Aviat Husky when he crossed a runway that was already in use at an airport in Los Angeles County.
The Federal Aviation Administration is now investigating the incident. An FAA spokesperson said in a statement, "The FAA is investigating an incident in which the pilot of an Aviat Husky taxied across the runway at Hawthorne Municipal Airport Friday afternoon while another aircraft was performing a touch-and-go landing."
The spokesperson told CNN the two aircraft were approximately 3600 feet apart at the time.
Ford was told by the tower operator: "Can you hold short on runway. Traffic on the runway."
Upon receiving these instructions, Ford apparently accelerated onto the runway and started crossing it, with the operator angrily asking him why he was ignoring his instructions.
A spokesperson for the actor said: "Mr. Ford crossed the airport's only runway in his aircraft after he misheard a radio instruction from ATC. He immediately acknowledged the mistake and apologized to ATC for the error."
This is not Ford's first mishap while piloting a plane. In March 2015, he broke his pelvis when he had to make an emergency landing on a golf course due to engine failure.
In 2017, he tried to land his plane on the taxiway of a California airport, nearly missing an American Airlines Boeing 737 that was taking off with 116 people on board. Ford quickly apologized for that mistake as well, saying he was "distracted." ~Alexandra Heilbron
No offense to Mr Ford but im thinking its time for a refreshing course before his luck runs out on the runway.
I don't think he should be able to fly anymore. No pilot wants to be grounded but it's a lot of lives he could take with just one more error, and the loss could be in the hundreds. Ground him for life, it's just time. You got lots of money hire a pilot or find a new hobby.
No if or but He has to retire his wings. Too many near accidents.
Why do celebrities have different rules from the rest of us? Why are we stuck at home and he's out there doing who knows what in addition to nearly killing other people multiple times. He's obviously senile. Or getting there.
Ya know, I'm 73 years old. I took myself off the road when my pain meds caused me to lose the ability to multi-task. I think it's time for Harrison Ford to get out of the pilot's seat. He has no place there. And, shame on him for going flying at this time. He should be at home, just like the rest of us.

I think he already knows it's time to stop. He'll get there soon... just a little slower than he should have. Doesn't make for the best of judgements but I think he's lonely and realizes his time left is short. Please don't batter this man. Yes I worry about the lives around him when he chooses to fly but we all have a relative like this ( in some form or fashion )... don't we? Let's hope someone close has a serious talk with him about this incident and convinces him that it's ok to hang it up and move on.
Even Prince Philip realized it was time to stop driving when he caused an accident. Time for Mr Ford to realize it's time for him to stop flying. Sorry bud, I wouldn't trust you up there any more. Next time you'll have a heart attack and kill more people than just yourself. Possibilities are definitely there.
He's 77 yrs old. Why has his pilot license not been confiscated? Any other senior who drives a car & makes this many serious blunders has their license zapped. Why doesn't he?? And -- why aren't the airports banning his permit to fly, take off, or land on their strips? They all know he's a time bomb catastrophe just waiting to happen. He just charged right out onto the landing strip without even looking!! Does anybody who is not senile do this in a car & get away with it? He's lost his marbles & should be losing his rights to fly -- and maybe even to drive for that matter.
It doesn't matter who he is, if he has placed other people's lives in danger, especially since he's done this before, he should have his pilot license revoked PERMANENTLY.
I have one answer: Money and being a celebrity goes all together!....Stay safe Mr Ford!
yep airplanes and famous rich people dont mix ,,,,,,,,people think if they are famous in movies or sports it makes them expert and a certified pro on flying a plane, it even worse when they have more money than brains and think it a good idea to fly the airwaves, Harrison Ford is a pure example of why it not a good idea to fly at all because it takes a real pilot in a long life career to have the know how on all the dos and donts flying a plane, rich people please give you're money i know what to do with rather than others like Harrison Ford that spend it up the horses u know what

No disrespect Mr.Ford but I think it’s time to retire from flying before you seriously injure yourself or someone else. You have had too many mishaps in such a short time frame.
He says sorry after every incident. Sorry isn't enough anymore.
