The nominees for the 2019 BAFTA awards were announced today, and the period comedy/drama The Favourite (pictured at left) starring Emma Stone, Rachel Weisz and Olivia Colman, led the pack with 12 nominations, including Best Film, Best British Film and nominations for all three actresses.
Bradley Cooper's directorial debut, A Star is Born, received seven nods, including Best Director and Leading Actor for Cooper, as well as a nod for Lady Gaga and a Best Film nomination.
Fan favorite Bohemian Rhapsody also received seven nominations -- including one for Best British Film and a Leading Actor nod for Rami Malek.

The Favourite was not one of my Favourites. Long,slow, tedious, and ugly. All vile characters,who I didn't care what happened to them. They made the court a place were the losers lived. The lowest form of humans with no ambition, too much time on there hands and clueless as to what was going on in the world. Ten minutes into it I started looking at watch hoping it would end soon, but it doesn't. It goes on and on and never gets better. Some fine performances, sets and costumes were good. Why this film was ever made, I have no idea.

I forced myself to see this movie because it was one of the nominees. I saw 4 movies before the globes, and it was more exciting to watch them. The trailer was terrible, along with the reviews I read. I was pleasantly surprised by how good it was and different, like green book was. I really liked it, but it had a weak ending. I see why Olivia Colman got best actress, I believe, for her role as Queen Anne. (Not sure of spelling). If I can add... Visually spectacular,many surprises, funny, and overall a good time. Was glad I went. Now I just want to vice and possibly Beale street. I love awards shows, and this was the first time I saw movies before they started.
