In the trailer for What They Had, Bridget (Hilary Swank) gets a call from her brother Nicky (Michael Shannon) and returns home after her mother (Blythe Danner), who is suffering from Alzheimer's, wandered off during a snowstorm. Nicky resents all that he has to do for his parents and wants to put his mother in a nursing home. His father (Robert Forster) refuses, saying love is commitment. Meanwhile, Bridget's own marriage is falling apart.
