Guatemalan novelist Rodrigo Rey Rosa makes his feature film directing debut with the drama Lo Que Sono Sebastian (What Sebastian Dreamt), based on his novel of the same name. Sebastian (Andoni Gracia) is a Spanish writer who inherits rain forest land in Guatemala. When he learns of a murder that has taken place on the land, he goes out to investigate.
He discovers that a local family has been illegally hunting there for generations. Determined to protect the natural wildlife population, Sebastian gets involved in dangerous local politics. What Sebastian Dreamt was shown at the Sundance Film Festival in 2004 as part of the World Cinema program.
