Born into a poor family in India, Balram (Adarsh Gourav) nonetheless has ambitions. He wants to become a chauffeur, and gets a job as a driver for Ashok (Rajkummar Rao) and Pinky (Priyanka Chopra), who have just returned from America.

Although he initially enjoys the job and idolizes his rich employers, overtime he realizes that his life as little more than a slave is unbearable. Balram realizes that there's only one way to break free. He commits a crime that nets him a large amount of money in order to start his own taxi company, White Tiger Drivers, thereby elevating his social status.

Based on the New York Times bestseller and 2008 Man Booker Prize-winning novel by Aravind Adiga.
