Les Troyens is a French opera set in Troy. While the Trojans celebrate their deliverance and their new wooden horse, prophetess Cassandre foresees the destruction of Troy. Énée is told the horse is a bad omen and should be burned. Énée immediately warns Cassandre's father, but the man ignores the warning and allows the horse to be brought into the kingdom.
After entering the city, soldiers break out from the body of the horse and begin to destroy Troy and its citizens. Énée flees to Italy to build a new home. During his quest, Énée encounters many obstacles, including one decision that will affect his people forever.
