In the official trailer for The Lovers, Michael (Tracy Letts) comes home to his wife, Mary (Debra Winger). The two barely say anything to each other, and seem unhappy. We then see that both are involved in extramarital affairs: Michael with a ballet instructor, and Mary with a young man. The two couples are arranging when they will tell their respective partner that the marriage is over. However, an unexpected turn of events causes Mary and Michael to realize they still have feelings for each other.
