In the official trailer for The Dark Stranger, we witness the suicide of Leah's mother. Although her father (Enrico Colantoni) is patient and supportive, Leah Garrison (Katie Findlay) starts seeing hallucinations, which resemble the graphic designs she creates for a living. Leah mutilates herself and uses her own blood in her artwork.
Leah is seen gradually going down the artistic path her mother went. Her hallucinations become increasingly vivid and violent, and Leah becomes more and more critical of her own work to the point of paranoia.
