Possibly the single BEST film I have ever seen. Truly a masterpiece. Extremely compelling and provocative. I absolutely loved it.

A masterpiece! It received a well deserved Oscar.

I would like so mutch to finish my life like that, with all my friends, my son in a so beautifull decor. All in `douceur et beauté`

I cried...I have reached an age where I have held enough hands of people I have loved as they went into death that I could recognize the basic truth of this story, which is its beauty and strength.

It`s an awesome work of Canadian film magic and intelligence that captures well the craziness of our lives .

It was an intelligent film, a rarety today. Full character development, stylish but not contrived, beautiful (in a deeper sense) people in a human, painful time. Stirring, proud it is Canadian. Wondering why English Canada cannot produce films like M. Arcand`s...

It is not a story but life as we wish its end will be. Not since "The Happy Time" has the truth of living been so sweet and apparent. Reality, washed over by dreams, glorifies life and makes each bit of it a shared guess of what we all might be.

Thematically this movie is terrible! There are some strong overall cinematic qualities that keep the movie entertaining. I was ver unhappy with the message that having money is the only way one can die happy. If that were my father, he would have died in the ward with the others. It was also grossly unrealistic!

So satisfying to watch a great Canadian movie. Rivals The Sweet Hereafter as the best this country has ever produced.

What a tremendous movie! The best we have seen in many years, what emotions, kept us spellbound even after the end, had to stay seated after the end credits. The title might give people the wrong impression.

Finally an excellent movie with a real story. If this movie was made by the Hollywood establishment it would be a sure winner of the Oscar for best movie....

Sensational film, it is the best movie I`ve seen all year. Good story, very good acting and beautifull decor.
