In the trailer for Small Town Crime, alcoholic ex-cop Mick Kendall (John Hawkes) wakes up in a field, revealing he's useless in the mornings and doesn't start thinking straight until he's had a couple of cold ones. As he pushes a bunch of empties off his dashboard while driving, he spots a dead female by the side of the road. He tells the police, but wants to look into the murder himself. He goes to the girl's father and offers to find the killer.
