When her father dies, Sarah, a new Quebecer in her twenties, leaves Montreal to visit her grandmother Magda, who lives alone in the Uruguayan countryside. Returning to the place where she grew up, the young woman wants to learn more about what caused her parents to flee to Canada more than a decade ago.

To achieve this, and finally to mourn, she must first break her grandmother’s silence, because the elderly lady has never accepted the fact that her son abandoned her without explanation.
