In the first trailer for Prodigals, Wesley (David Alpay) returns to his hometown of Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario where he meets up with all his old friends. He’s arrived to help with one friend’s murder trial, as requested by the suspect’s sister, Nina. It is revealed that Wesley dropped out of law school and isn’t a real lawyer but believes he can take on the case anyway. As the trial proceeds, he reconnects with his old love Jen (Sara Canning) and the trailer ends with him telling her, “I can never let you go again.”
