Oscar-Nominated Best Documentary Short Films Movie Poster

This is a unique big screen opportunity to see the four shorts nominated for Best Documentary at the most recent Academy Awards.

They range from a heartrending look at the fate of Chinese children orphaned by AIDS (The Blood of Yingzhou District, which won the Oscar) to a harrowing, compassionate glimpse at generations of Guatamalans eking out their existence in the middle of one of the Earth’s most toxic garbage dumps (Recycled Life) to two inspirational looks at artistry – Two Hands follows world-renowned concert pianist Leon Fleischer as he struggles for decades to regain the use of his right hand and Rehearsing a Dream looks at a number of talented 17-year-olds given the chance to work with the likes of Vanessa Williams, Mikhail Baryshnikov and Michael Tilson Thomas.
