A coming of age film with satire and comic tones reflecting the influence of black music, fashion and culture on white, Latino and Asian youngsters, as well as the unresolved race and ethnic relationship in the United States of America.

If blacks "acted like whites" in the past to fit in, now it is the reverse -- whites "act black" to fit in. It is now a common-place phenomenon to see a substantial number of white students in high schools and colleges who act, talk, wear and walk like "blacks". The movie depicts this reality.

Linking Rap Music and hair-dos to Ethiopia and other parts of Africa, it demonstrates that the origin of Rap and many hairstyles are rooted in Africa, as are Jazz music and Blues. The film is original in idea and very thought provoking. It likens this world to God’s garden, humans to multi-colored flowers.

So, the color of each flower is as beautiful as the other. Hence, the name of the film, Multi-Colored Flowers.
