When something strange appears in the sky, the military is on full alert. Driving through the desert, Artemis (Milla Jovovich) and her team discover tire tracks that stop abruptly, but with no sign of the team. Soon after, a lightening storm picks them up and drops them in a new world they don't recognize, where they're threatened by creatures that rise up out of the sand.
