Prince Michael "The Brave" (Amza Pellea) of the Wallachia province of Eastern Europe seeks to unite his region with the neighboring principalities of Moldavia and Transylvania. To do so, however, requires strategic political plotting, and he will have to go to war with both the Ottoman and Austrian Empires.

It will take more than a decade of fighting, including casualty-ridden battles, but Michael is determined in his quest to establish the new nation of Romania.
