Despite the limited size of its music scene, there are countless punk groups in Israel, both in Jerusalem as well as in Tel-Aviv. The majority of these young musicians are leftwing, denouncing the increasing militarization of their country as well as the policy of their government with regard to the Palestinians.

On the other hand, some groups are on the right, proud their Jewish roots and of living in Israel; their obligatory two year stint in the army often reinforces their convictions. The military service is a constant concern for many of these young people, several of whom pretend to be crazy in order to gain exemption. Their testimony, tinted by their fear of terrorism, is interspersed with excerpts from their musical performances.
