Excellent movie, wonderful cast, storyline and characters very endearing. Must see but I don't think that it's good for kids, some adult themes.

User review rating: 4 December 11, 2011

I love movies with historical significance where I can learn something. Not only that, it wasn't full of violence, sex or profanity. Great for kids, adults and all those in between. Lots of humanity, engrossing drama, great sets and a wonderful cast. I loved this film. Now, we know the tale of historical events to be true, but was Hugo really the catalyst? That is the question.

Hugo is one of the most enjoyable movies I have seen in a very long time. There is truly something for everyone. The children and adults both enjoyed the orhan story, the dog and S.B. Cohen 'hunting' for orphans, the love story, the historic info about movies....ALL of it was stellar from the acting to the stories. I LOVED it and actually plan to see it again. The 3D was great as well.

Based on the book “The Invention of Hugo Cabaret” this movie does a fantastic job recreating this great heartfelt story. An enjoyable movie, however would have been average with out the “Scorsese Effect.” Only Scorsese can take a slow developing story, and continue to intrigue the viewers. That is exactly what he did, and is clearly one of his greatest masterpieces.

Enjoyable enough.

Impressed! Nice story, solid acting and quality effects made this an easy movie to enjoy. The addition of 3D didn't hurt either. Thumbs up for a movie the whole family will enjoy.

Best movie of the year and should be up for the Oscars. Truly a feel good movie, my only complaint would be that it is a bit too long.

This movie sucks. It is so slow and no point Martin go back to gangster movie Boo!!

User review rating: 4 November 30, 2011

At first I thought it was a pure fantasy only, but embedded within the story is a tribute to someone I never really knew about till now. Worth the see. 3D made it better too even though not necessary.

A cute story with keen edge.

User review rating: 5 November 26, 2011

In a stunning tribute to the early pioneers of cinema, master director Martin Scorsese creates a magical interwar Paris, where, in the clock tower of a train station, an orphan boy seeks the tools to repair his only link with his deceased father -- a mechanical man. His search, and the characters and friends he meets along the way, make for marvelous and spell-binding entertainment for all ages. Stunning cinematography and clever use of 3D make this a must-see!

Scorsese's Hugo 3D is going to join the rank of timeless classics! This magical, mystical journey of an orphan who lives in the walls of a train station in 1930's Paris and tries to fulfill his late father's legacy is an all over feel good holiday movie with brilliant story telling and acting, magnificent scenery and great 3D effects! A truly delightful movie to begin the Christmas season! I highly recommend it for all ages!
