This is Disney's new version of Walt's pet project, combining music and animation into one art form. With the exception of Mickey Mouse's encore appearance in "The Sorcerer's Apprentice", the film features seven new pieces, all of which are specially formatted for the IMAX theaters.

Seven classical pieces have been used, including Beethoven's Symphony No. 5, Stravinsky's The Firebird and Elgar's Pomp and Circumstance.

Story boards range from a tale of good vs. evil, whales that take flight, a tin soldier rescuing a beautiful ballerina, and the personification of nature with a death and re-birth theme. Donald Duck will appear as Noah's assistant, but instead of collecting water like Mickey, Donald will be collecting animals.

Along with the music and stories, there is also the animation. Unlike the first Fantasia, which was only made of hand-drawn animation, the new version will display a variety of different animation styles, ranging from computer generated characters, 3-dimensional animation, water color styling and of course the traditional form.
