Al Adamson's horror masterpiece gives viewers the villain smackdown we've all been waiting for. J. Carroll Naish and Lon Chaney Jr. are towering in their final film roles. Zander Vorkov delivers an Oscar-worthy performance as Dracula, showing the 'undead' nature of the role the way no other actor has before or since. Truly a performance for the ages. Gary Graver's beautiful cinematography recalls the work of the great Gordon Willis. Most cameramen work slow. Graver works with slow film. Russ Tamblyn turns up in a memorable cameo that is brief but is nevertheless one of his very best performances. The story is efficient yet profound. The direction recalls the prodigious simplicity of Ozu and Rossellini. A true work of art that will shake you to your core and blow your mind. Do not miss this amazing work of cinema. Not to be confused with the film of the same name by genius auteur Jess Franco.
