Kevin Hart, playing a fictionalized version of himself, appears on a talk show promoting his new film, in which he plays Dwayne Johnson's sidekick. After getting many laughs, Hart realizes he's tired of playing the comedic sidekick and wants to be the main action star. He heads to the action star school run by the tough-as-nails Ron Wilcox (John Travolta). Hart must now survive crazy training drills, pushing him almost to his limits. Just as he is about to give up, Hart's rival student (Nathalie Emmanuel) pushes him to keep moving forward and chase his dreams.
