Satbir belongs to a gang of thieves who pickpocket in a department store. He wants to quit his criminal career to start an honest and decent life. Having decided to give up his old life, he meets Neena and falls in love with her immediately. One day she loses her purse to a pickpocket.

When Satbir gets it back for her she is curious how he managed to do so and wants to find out more about pickpockets. She requests to see the gang of thieves in action. Torn, because he didn't ever want to steel again, he still gives in and satisfies her wish.

Shortly after he sees himself and the gang on television as they are stealing from people, in a promo clip for an upcoming TV programme. Neena must have filmed him with a hidden camera. Duped and disappointed, Satbir comes up with an elaborate scheme to turn the tables.
