Detectives Alec Hardy (David Tennant) and Ellie Miller (Olivia Colman) have a new case when a 49-year-old woman is beaten and raped at a party on an estate, but has no memory of her attacker, who knocked her out from behind. Alec wants to find out who did it quickly so he can't hurt anyone else, while Ellie believes they should tread softly when it comes to questioning the victim.
