In the official trailer for Youth in Oregon, Raymond Engersol (Frank Langella) and his family are together to celebrate his 80th birthday. During the party, he says he has an announcement to make. Raymond wants to go to Oregon to end his life via assisted suicide. His daughter Kate (Christina Applegate) objects to the plan and enlists her husband Brian (Billy Crudup) to drive Raymond to Oregon in order to try to change his mind before they get there. Raymond’s wife Estelle (Mary Kay Place), who also opposes the idea, goes with them. The Engersols stop at their son Danny's (Josh Lucas) home to get support. When Kate hears that Brian hasn't been able to do as she asked, she threatens to get on the next plane to Oregon herself. Can this family join together in time to convince Raymond that life is still worth living?
