The Phenom - Official Trailer

The trailer for The Phenom kicks off as a man (Ethan Hawke) opens a door, peers into a bedroom where a half-asleep boy lies, and asks, "Do you want to be the best?" We're then taken to a baseball diamond where a pitcher feels the pressure and the crowd watching the game breaks out in boos.

As the trailer rolls on, we learn that the young boy is now a Major League player named Hopper Gibson (Johnny Simmons) who was sent down to the minor leagues for losing control in a game. He's working with a sports psychologist (Paul Giamatti) to unpack his issues, which we discover are rooted in his severely damaging relationship with his overbearing father.
