In the gripping premiere trailer for The Mummy, a carrier plane glides smoothly through the sky as its military passengers sit patiently awaiting their destination. One such passenger, Nick Morton (Tom Cruise), reflects on his recent expedition to retrieve an ancient tomb from Egypt. As he looks upon the tomb, which now sits strapped in the middle of the aircraft, a sudden jolt of turbulence startles him and his fellow commandos, including Colonel Gideon Forster (Courtney B. Vance) and Jenny Halsey (Annabelle Wallis).

However, it soon becomes clear that it's not just regular turbulence as the plane rapidly descends towards an enormous flock of birds. It's full-out mayday as the crew and passengers are sent swirling in zero gravity, with some sent flying out of the side of the plane, and others helplessly flailing within the aircraft. The incredible sequence ends with Nick frantically screaming for his life as the plane plummets towards the Earth. Suddenly, he wakes up in a body bag, with no recollection of what has happened, or why he's still alive. Little does he know that within the wreckage of the plane crash sits an ancient queen named Ahmanet with an age-old vendetta that will unleash chaos on the world.
