When a new girl and her mother move across the street from Kate on Firefly lane, they eventually become best friends. They both want to become successful journalists when they grow up and Tully goes on to achieve that dream while Kate goes on to have a family. However, they remain friends and when Kate decides to return to the workforce, Tully is there for her.
