Outdated, worn out, poorly managed.

December 20, 2022

Went and saw a good movie, Violent Night, action and seasonal. Only problem is our local theater. The place has gone down so bad. No one really managing it well, dirty, torn up seats. A dozen teens running amouk the entire time of the movie, jumping around, howling, and literally running up and down the stairs, on their phones, talking, laughing. Made it hard to watch as they ran in front of you every 10-15 minutes because the movie jumping between different theaters. Was at least 9 boys and 4 girls. The mother or grandmother couldn't care less and talked loudly the whole time. It's gotten to the point that I don't think we will be going back to Midway Cinema in Chehalis. I would much rather drive north for a better managed theater that is clean, in good condition, is staffed appropriately, and doesn't let the teens run around yelling and acting like strung out toddlers. Sad what society and parents think is acceptable young adult behavior. If I caught my kids acting like a jackass out in public, they would certainly lose their cell phones, be grounded for quite some time, and when not grounded they would be doing community service for those in need for their "fun" time. 😤😠

Really the best choice around

December 21, 2018

Will pick this theater to see a movie over any of the Regal cinemas in the area. Better than most everything in Vancouver to Olympia. The only thing better would be the Broadway in Portland. Concession stand is nice, people running the place are nice - never had a problem there. Restrooms are usually not bad. The projectors are generally at running good light levels, although on occasion they've been known to run some 3d's at lower than normal lumen, probably to save money if the crowds are small. Sound pressure level is fine - I don't know what people are complaining about. All in all a very good experience, and ticket prices are a great value compared to everything else in the area. Highly recommended..

Rotten Sound System

December 31, 2017

I just finished watching the new Star Wars movie, and my head is still ringing. The sound was so over the top loud that a lot of the dialog was garbled and not understandable. Ok, I'm in my 30's, but when you see high school kids covering their ears or putting in ear plugs it's too much. The speakers sound blown out too boot! Would someone please open another theater in Chehalis or Centralia? I've had enough abuse here!

Get there early to stand in line,, and wait,,, and wait,,, and wait.

December 30, 2017

Get there at least half an hour early if you ever hope to get through that long line to the concession stand to buy your tickets. Even if you only want tickets to the show, you'll have to stand in line waiting for all the kids ahead of you to make up their minds about what to drink, which candy, how much popcorn, etc. It's extremely frustrating there's no line dedicated to movie tickets only. The whole process is slower than getting your driver's license renewed! Sometimes there will only be two stations open for business and that only bogs things down worse.

Glad to have this option!

November 14, 2017

For those that don’t understand the cost to produce a movie, to operate a theater of this size, please stay in the trailer!! Get a box of microwave popcorn! Go to red-box! This is not the place for you!!! For those that are looking for a LOCAL establishment to watch the first run movies, then this is the place for you!

The only decent theater within 30 miles

September 22, 2017

Midway Cinema is a modern theater with several screens (at least eight). It is clean, outfitted with a full concession stand, the staff is friendly, and it even has a game room for those who arrive early. Yes, popcorn, drinks, hot dogs, pizza, and candy are expensive. But that's the way it is in every modern theater. Midway Cinema's pricing is in right line with their big theater competitors. This theater is the best thing going for miles around. The next closest theater that isn't a flea pit is 30 miles north or 40 miles south. We had to experience filthy theaters, tiny single screens, poor movie selections, and two-bit concessions for years. When the Midway Cinema was built it was a welcome surprise.

Prices are crazy

August 19, 2017

Seats are not the best. Not very comfortable. Hopefully they upgrade soon. Sound quality is good. Concession choices were decent but the price is way too high.

Horrible experience

March 22, 2017

Terrible service!!! Showed up 20 minutes early and still missed the start of the movie due to under staffed. Also the popcorn prices were out of this world!! Too high! We will NOT RETURN.
