Really the best place in the area

July 31, 2019

This is the place to take the family or date to enjoy a movie experience. The staff is always friendly the Popcorn is great and they have a wide variety of popcorn seasoning. I do not drink pop but the slushies are awesome, blue, orange and red. Best of all you get free refills. Always clean. Living in the middle between Logan, WV, and Pikeville, KY there are 3 choices Fountain Place Cinema 8, Southside Williamson, and Pikeville's Riverfill 10. Southside can't even compete with FPC8 and the ONLY thing Pikeville can attempt to provide is two move movies so they have them on variety but they are pale in comparison in every other way. if you live in the Logan, Mingo, or Pike counties. This is the theater to go to get your moneys and entertainment worth,

The SODA is *always* FLAT!

July 09, 2023

The SODA is *always* FLAT! If you pay almost $6 after tax for a large drink and every one of your Coke fountains dispense flat pop, it ruins the night/film. This has always the case for my last 5 visits within the past 7 months. I tested each Coca-Cola from each of the 3-4 dispensers, and they all had no taste and slightly smelled, of all things, sewer water (I'm unsure what would even cause this smell, though; expired syrup? Stagnant water? Who honestly knows, but it's there to wed a dreadfully dead taste.) Originally, I thought the bland/flat taste was a just a expired syrup or carbonated water mixing issue and that it would be resolved the next time I visited; that soon turned into another "next time", and then another, and another...and now I am writing this admonitory review. I had to fill my cup to the brim with ice just to make it cold enough to make another flat, non-Coca-Cola pop tolerable. If you're the local owner or manager of this theater, I don't mind paying $6 a drink (well...actually, I really do), BUT PLEASE MAKE IT NOT FLAT! That is literally the least and only thing you have to do beyond turning the lights on to the theater in the morning and off after everyone goes home. Jesus help these people...
