Poor customer service

October 30, 2022

My husband and I purchased tickets online, only to find out the service fee is from a third party. We bought them online because we thought we could avoid the line. When we arrived we discovered that the concessions and tickets were purchased in the same line, with no one there to scan our phone indicating that we had tickets already. Also, there is no addditional fee at the theater. The wait was approximately 20 minutes.

Nice theater

The service is always excellent and friendly. The theater is a little aged but maintained well considering challenges with staffing for everyone

Whoa there, Nellie!

After enjoying Carmike for so many years, the biggest sensation when entering AMC is WTF!!! Stop listening to industrial engineers trying to optimize your processes. The whole ticket purchase/concession process is almost insulting. It's like the Airline's Cattle Call for boarding aircraft. Act like you care for your customers.

Gone Down HIll since AMC bought out Carmike

May 12, 2019

Moved to Canton area 11 years ago and used to LOVE going to the movies. This theater used to be owned and operated by Carmike Cinemas and, boy, you can tell the difference. Always seems to be long lines because there's not enough employees; no box office now, AMC makes you buy your tickets at the concession stands which is infuriating because, again, not enough employees. makes for long lines all the time, and HATE waiting so long when all I want to do is buy a movie ticket. Hardly ever clean anymore (I'm guessing, again, reduction in headcount), does not look like AMC puts money into the building - place just looks like it's getting rundown and shabby. And, AMC nickels-and-dimes you for everything (ex: for a 'membership' you can cut to front of the line. really?!) and prices have ticked up greatly since AMC took over. Real shame. I now usually wait for movies to become available for streaming because the joy of going to the movie theater has died for me - thank you AMC

Big D theater is great, everything else, terrible.

Theater is always nice and has done well at adapting (mobile tickets are allowed to walk right in straight to the movie). ALTHOUGH the fact that when AMC took control of the theater from Carmike, I have never had to stand in a line for concession or tickets as long as I do when I visit this theater, and only this theater. For some reason out of the 4 concession stands that carmike had, they only utilize one, I guess to make more people pay for their premium line? Which isn't any better than the regular line. This alone is reason enough to use one of the other theaters in fairly close distance.

Not a good experience

July 23, 2018

We attended this theater many times before AMC acquired it and it was great...Since AMC took over it is easily the worse run theatre I’ve ever seen. First, it is woefully understaffed. No ticket agents...all is handled at the concession counters. Long waits just to get in. Secondly, the place is filthy! The floors are sticky. Please don’t try to use the restroom without a can of Lysol to spray contact surfaces. We won’t be back!!
