this review is from a person who knows from the inside what this company is for the people who loves AMC theaters the popcorn is already been pre buttered and salted the employees wants the guest to be welcomed in open arms to serve them and give customers satisfactory service but yet the management is different from the employees and their only goal is to protect themselves from the dissapointment of their employees mistakes and if they get fired they want to protect the company than protecting the employees and to get to know them personally and to learn their strengths and turn their weakness into a strength and they don't train their employees to their full potential with a employee who does have the experience and the years they have worked for them who really does have special needs and worked with them over 9 years and it was to be his 10 year this year but AMC let him go and the management does want the customers to feel welcome and to be flexible and help their customers and the management to give the employees flexible hours of work and they do need a faster way for cleaning the restrooms more than the lobby and even the ushers as well and ladies and gentlemen there are some rumors about people who does reviews to put negative things about something that might not be always right or wrong but if you go to a movie theater to see a movie please observe the company and the establishment I am not saying this to be mean or to be negative about the place or to the staff and the employees I am just stating the facts that on what I know and I want you to be the judge and determine on what AMC theaters needs to do I just want to be a review Jury member and to give my opinion on what is the true hard hitting true facts on this place or any place that you want me to give a review opinion about and please be honest with me because I am new on giving reviews towards companies and to give any reviews around the world just bare with me and in time I will give my wor

Nothing beats dining in at AMC

June 13, 2017

We love going to AMC 28 for the Dine-In showings. The chance to relax, have a good meal and enjoy a good movie is well worth the cost. The service is usually great. The theater's as clean as any I've seen (and having cleaned a few myself I know how hard that can be). The food is very good, if a little expensive and the desserts are delicious.

Theatre is not clean today

June 18, 2018

Came in for a 3:00 pm matinee in the dine in theatre. I assume this is the first use of this auditorium today. But even if not, the floor is stcky to walk on from spilled soda, and there is a stale top half of a hsmburher bum sitting dead center on my table. This has not been cleaned since the last use, and that's unsatisfactory.

One of the worst theaters I have even been to when it comes to the patrons.

January 28, 2019

In the last nine months I have had three of the worst movie experiences of my life. While seeing Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom a family of four came in the parents sat behind the children during the movie the mother kept getting up to threaten to whip her children. The children were not the problem it was the abusive mother. We did not report because we were afraid of what the children may endure because of our complaint. My husband and I went to the dine-in to see Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again. A couple of women sat a few seats away from us they would not stop talking, I informed the waitress she spoke to both women but they didn't pay her any attention. My husband and I moved seats leaving our food behind because it was dark and we didn't want to spill any of our food. I reached out to AMC via email and phone but it wasn't until I made a public post on Facebook did I hear back from AMC. They did not offer to pay for our food or give us tickets to another dine in simply they gave us a free med drink and free popcorn and movie tickets which we have never used. The last straw for us was when we went to see Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse and a man who sat in front of us had to keep letting the whole audience know he had an apple watch. He kept lifting his arms and every time the watch would light up. Never again will we go to this theatre. Not even with free tickets not worth it!

Frozen 2 IMAX False Advertising

November 23, 2019

My wife and daughter purchased tickets and attended an IMAX showing of Frozen 2 this morning at 9:30. Once the movie started my wife noticed that the movie was not an IMAX experience at all. Just a normal sized screening. Nothing special. Just your run of the mill movie. When the movie was over and my wife and addressed this issue with staff, she was laughed off and Disney was blamed for not formatting the movie properly. I am sorry but Disney isn't the one advertising the "full emersive experience" of IMAX... It is AMC theaters advertising that. This is false advertisement at its finest. We were glad to pay for the regular showing that we got, but we are not paying for IMAX and not getting it. I would not recommend this theatre at all based on the behavior and total lack of regard concerning the staff and their refusal to let my wife speak with management. I would urge anyone who has paid for the IMAX experience that didn't get that experience to contact the Kansas Attorney General's Office and file a consumer protection complaint against AMC for their false advertising. Follow this link to do so. https://ag.ks.gov/complaint-center Hold businesses accountable. In this day and age we simply have to. They could easily charge us for the regular showing and avoid all this, but they chose the low road instead.

Boy, do I feel ripped off! This is NOT IMAX!

November 23, 2019

Last night I looked at buying tickets for Frozen II in 3D, MX4D, and IMAX. I chose IMAX and AMC Dine-In Studio 28 and I don't think I could be more disappointed! When I walked into the auditorium the previews were playing and I had to ask the person next to me if I was in the right place because it did not look like any other IMAX movie I had seen. I thought maybe they just don't play the previews in IMAX, made sense, so I waited for the movie to start. It looked like watching a standard 2D movie the entire time. The screen was not larger than the standard screen in Lawrence, where I drove from, thinking I was going to get a better experience. NOT AT ALL! The chairs were old, not reclining, and cramped. After the movie I went to the service desk and asked to talk with a manager about how I felt, I did not get to speak with a manager, just the older lady that was working the desk at the time. I told her about my concerns and she told me that I needed to blame Disney for the format and they cant play anything other than IMAX in that auditorium. Then she asked my 5-year-old daughter if she enjoyed the show, of course she said yes, then she looked at me and said "looks like we got it right" - so I responded with "I'm sorry, but my 5-year-old would have enjoyed watching the new Frozen movie just the same at home, she didn't pay for the tickets, I did, and I do not feel that I got the experience that I paid for, I have seen IMAX movies before and this is not what they looked like" and I showed her a picture that I took of the movie screen and it's standard ratio size and her response was "that's a federal offense and a $5000 fine." WOW! ARE YOU KIDDING ME!? I am not posting this picture to the internet, I am trying to show it to management to express my concerns. I will NEVER choose AMC AGAIN!!

Pay-Per-View-Or-Not

May 28, 2023

I would like to start by noting that if there was an option to do so I would give this theater zero stars on all sections instead of one. I went to see the AEW Double or Nothing Pay-Per-View today (May 28th) instead of at my regular theater as they were not showing it there this time. It was being held in theater #2. The theater itself looked terrible with the seats being very wobbly (to the point that I thought it might break off), uncomfortable, and looking very old with parts of the seat's leather being cracked or missing. The little bar area in front of the seats to place food also looked old and in need of repainting. Additionally, while it didn't affect me due to my height, I thought that area was also a bit too tall and might've impacted the view of people trying to lean back into the uncomfortable seat. The Coup-de-Grace to this terrible experience is that they couldn't get the pay-per-view started. Everyone sat there for 40 minutes waiting for them to get it fixed, and missing 40 minutes of a show that won't be replayed in theaters since it was a one-night-only special event. I ended up getting a refund, along with everyone else there, but they should've given us more than just give us our money back. They wasted mine and everyone else's time, gas, and other resources that we won't be getting back. I certainly have no interest in ever going back there after this experience, even if it ended up being the only theater that shows those pay-per-views.
