Much improved. Clean and comfortable.

First of all, what is not to love about the reclining seats! There is plenty of arm room and you can walk past other seated patrons without them having to stand up. Second, the place is very clean. Yes, it is recently renovated and that has a lot to do with it, but cleanliness is always a plus. On to the theater presentation...came in 1 minute after the scheduled showtime, so I did not notice if there were commercials. Previews, which I enjoy but some do not, were not excessive. The room temperature was cool, but comfortable. Not like an icebox. My one complaint with the experience was the decibel level of the audio. If I'm seeing an action movie, I like it loud. The problem is that when the sound level of the previews, opening credits and even non-action sequences is making me wince, then it is not enjoyable. Pain never makes for a good experience. Problem solved by rolling up some small pieces of napkins and putting them in my ears. Could hear everything perfectly and I was able to enjoy the experience. The one area I gave a 3 star rating to was customer service. Not because it was bad, but because it was nonexistent. There is no human contact. You can purchase your ticket online, which I did, but then you have to enter your confirmation number on the screen of a kiosk. If you purchase a soda at the concession counter, they hand you a cup and you fill it yourself. Where is the customer service? Overall, it was a good experience, but I may frequent the Barkhamsted Apple Cinema more often because their sound level is not nearly as high.
