Terrible sound, so loud that speech is not inteligible experience.

September 09, 2023

Three hours later my ears are still hurting. All three of us agreed that only half of the speech was understandable. The 2D IMAX costs plenty but is just a regular flat screen. Won't go again.

SAY NO! PARKING ,CONCESSION, CUSTOMER SERVICE NIGHTMARE;

August 27, 2023

Parking…you pay before you go in …only choice is MAX Time…$6.00….you have to know your license plate number, and number you parked in…regardless none of this works, because you’re just screwed and exiting can be a nightmare or, they leave the gates open so you paid to get screwed. I’m handicapped - little or no handicap parking spots. Concession - waited in long line. Only 2 people waiting on you. Slugs move faster than these folks. Ordered a popcorn, drink and a hot dog. Got the popcorn, Got the drink. No hot dogs were ready yet they sold me one. I was told I could wait 25 minutes (right!) or come back in 30. I came back in middle of Oppenheimer movie, expecting to get my paid for hot dog without waiting 20 minutes in line again….wrong! The cretinous idiot said ‘I don’t care if you paid - you havecto wait in line again’. Seriously? While waiting For Supervisor, they RAN OUT OF HOT DOGS AGAIN! This time I’m super annoyed having missed 20 minutes of the movie and still stupid people not doing what they said ….’come back & get it’ ….not ‘you’ll have to wait in line when you do. Cleanliness - dirty …sticky arm rests and dirty seats. Theater Presentation: EXTREMELY EAR DAMAGING,WALL SHAKING LOUD! Had to go hobble out of my seat once again on crutches to get that fixed. They did lower it a TINY BIT. Are they deaf? Isn’t this digitized to show sound levels? AMC BAY ST 16 IS A BAD EXPERIENCE ALL AROUND.

Complete inattention to important details will ruin your experience

March 11, 2023

Tried to watch Banshees of Inisherin there, prior to the Oscars: 1) Terrible, loud hiss from entire left channel of sound. A day later, my ears are still ringing from that excessive high frequency noise. 2) Projection intensity was about 50% of what it should have been. I've never seen a movie that was so dark, and so lacking of contrast. Why did no one bother to check it?!!! Spoke to manager afterwards: Was aware of the awful hiss!!! 'Unable to do anything about it', that's the role of the "studio" (meaning AMC). Projection intensity: 'Should have come out and alerted someone'. What part of 'immersive experience meant to be vastly superior to watching the movie on TV' does that statement absolutely negate? Why should a paying customer be tasked with doing their quality control? Based upon this experience, and two previous experiences their with horrible sound (entire right channel of two movies in the same theater being absent, one year apart, even though I notified AMC corporate offices, following the first negative experience), that theater, and AMC in general, seem to take very little ownership of their important role in creating an excellent experience for their patrons? If movie studios cared so little about important details, no one would ever pay to watch movies or even watch them on cable. One more thing: The elevator leading up to the theater smelled like a dog went to the bathroom in it. I wonder how many of the employees of Bay St. 16 rode in that actual elevator yet never bothered to report it to ANYONE.

Sound level is too loud. Way to dark when entering theater and finding a seat. Seats are old and some broken. Prices are even higher than Pleasant Hill and Walnut Creek.
