The daughter of award-winning singer, songwriter and musician Lenny Kravitz and Cosby Show actress Lisa Bonet, Zoë Kravitz was born in Los Angeles.

With both musical and acting talent, she decided to pursue a future in both. Her interest in acting began in high school and during her teenage years, she worked on several films. Her first two were Reservations, co-starring Catherine Zeta-Jones and Aaron Eckhart and The Brave One, starring Jodie Foster. In 2008 she acted in the comedy Birds of America and Assassination of a High School President, followed by The Greatest, which showcased at the 2009 Sundance Film Festival.

To further her studies in acting Zoë enrolled at the State University of New York. She landed her first lead role in Beware the Gonzo opposite Ezra Miller.

Her music career began to flourish after a performance in Jay-Z’s 2008 music video “I Know” on his “American Gangster” album. She also was one of the many celebrities who featured in the video “We are the Ones” by Will I Am during Barack Obama’s campaign. She is currently a lead singer and co-writer for the band “Elevator Fight.”

Zoë is also the new face of Vera Wang’s “Princess” perfume. She has been in advertisements for designer Alexander Wang and on fashions spreads in several magazines including Elle.

In addition, she played a supporting role in It’s Kind of a Funny Story alongside a string of A-Listers such as Viola Davis, Emma Roberts and Zach Galifianakis. She also played a regular role as Pearl on the television series Californication opposite David Duchovny. Her more recent roles were in X-Men: First Class, a prequel to the X-Men film series and After Earth

opposite Will Smith and his son Jaden.
